Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, the company behind the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, stated in an interview that the company will work on developing ways to help schools detect AI plagiarism, but warned that full detection is not guaranteed.

He acknowledged that new technologies will continue to be integrated into classrooms and will ultimately have a positive impact on users. He also acknowledged that the recent bans on ChatGPT by some schools have sparked important conversations about how AI will shape education.

Altman stated that while some educators may be nervous about the potential impact of ChatGPT on homework, the chatbot can also serve as an effective personal tutor for students. He also mentioned that OpenAI will experiment with watermarking technologies and other techniques to label content generated by ChatGPT, but warns against depending on these tools as it is impossible to make them perfect.

Altman emphasized that the world must adapt to generative AI and that technology will continue to improve to prevent unintended consequences.
